The sound of shrieking and cheering girls echo throughout the gym as 300+ girls rock to the sounds of music blasting. It’s the grand finale to CYO’s Annual Cheerleading Showcase.
The Showcase offers cheerleaders the opportunity to "show their stuff" in a dance
and / or cheering routine.
We offer two divisions: Grades 1 - 6, and
Grades 7 & 8. Guest High School or College Cheerleaders are on hand for several exhibition numbers. In addition to their showcase of talent, they are visible throughout the event as spotters and supporters.
Each team receives an award in such categories as: Motion & Jump, Dance, Originality, Stunt Safety, Spirit and more.
The event takes place in early to mid-March.
For the last several years, Girls’ Volleyball has been our fastest growing sport. Currently 270+ teams partake in the program we offer to both Elementary and High School girls. Following the crowning of Champions, our CYO Champions compete vs. the Champs from Brooklyn/Queens in a series of exciting matches.
The CYO Swimming Program "hits the water" in January with children in Grades 1-12 jumping in.

The season concludes with our Championship Meet in late March / early April.
CYO and its members work together to promote good sportsmanship and fair play. Sportsmanship is the backbone of CYO. We affirm that the heart of CYO and the key to its success is found in the many volunteers who freely give of their time, energy, resources, and expertise. CYO continues to strongly maintain a commitment to Catholic values and excellence in sportsmanship
For the children of Long Island, CYO has been a standard for learning and experiencing team sports and recreation. The Athletic programs should be viewed as part of the faith building efforts of the participating members. These programs can be effective tools that will invite, welcome, and involve any person into the life of the faith community. The inter-relationship of CYO Athletics with family life, parish life, and school life is essential....

They also play a 10 game schedule with games played at the home fields of various teams. Playoffs follow leading up to Championships in late June.
Girls in Grades 5 - 12 are welcome to play. A unique facet of our Softball program (grades 5-8) is the use of the continuous batting rule. Every child present at the game must bat, there is free substitution in the field, and thus each player plays at every game.
Our Girls' High School Division features many of the top players on their High School team, making for some very exciting games.
